Dungeons and Dragons Club to start at Abingdon

Dungeons and Dragons was such a hit on Saturday that we will be starting a club. The next time we meet we'll be creating characters...this is sometimes a long process, but usually a fun one!! If you're interested stop by the library and let one of the librarians know. They'll take your information and someone will call to let you know when we'll meet again.

BTW, if you're interested there is a new card game that can be played independently of D&D or you can play in character if you like. The game is called "Three Dragon Ante."

Dungeons and Dragons @ Abingdon Library

This Saturday, May 6, will be the first time that Abingdon has had a Dungeons & Dragons program. If you enjoy fantasy, gaming, and role playing, you might want to check it out. We'll be creating characters and starting an adventure. If everyone's interested we may play regularly.

Creating a character is fun. You choose what type of person you might want to be, sorceress, warrior, etc. Then, if your character has magic abilities you can choose spells that will assist your character. Otherwise, as a warrior you choose armor and weapons for your character.

As a group you make decisions and role play your characters reactions to situations. Playing is a great way to learn strategy and meet new people. If you are interested, sign up for the program and check out your local library branch for a copy of the Player's Handbook.

Reaction to Movie Night

Movie Night at the Abingdon library was interesting. We had snacks while watching. What do you think of being able to watch movies at the library, would you come on a Friday night, or is there some other time that you would rather see them? Let's hear your thoughts.
