Gala Tickets Almost Sold Out!

Hurry to get your Gala tickets, as the annual event put on by the Harford County Public Library Foundation is almost sold out!

Jarrettsville: a novel

“Based on a true story from the author’s family history, Jarrettsville begins in 1869, just after Martha Jane Cairnes has shot and killed her fiancé…”

‘The story is set in Northern Maryland, six miles below the Mason-Dixon line, where brothers literally fought on opposing sides, and former slave-owners live next door to abolitionists and freed men.’

Meet Cornelia Nixon, author of Jarrettsville at the Jarrettsville Branch on Monday, November 2 at 6:00 pm for an exciting discussion and book signing.

For more information and to register for the program, call the Jarrettsville Branch at 410-692-7887!

Read for the Record

Help us munch our way to a new reading record on Thursday, October 8th when The Very Hungry Caterpillar will be read every hour on the half hour to celebrate Read for the Record Day at the Aberdeen, Abingdon, and Bel Air Branches of Harford County Public Library.

The goal is to have one million children read or listen to the same book on the same day to draw attention to the early education crisis affecting millions of at-risk young children here in the U.S. and across the globe.
