Hurray for Bollywood
If you want flash and dancing and singing and probably a lot of drama as well as melodrama (and maybe even a few laughs), try any of HCPL’s Indian entertainment DVDs made in Bollywood, or more familiarly Mumbai (Bombay). Mostly Hindi-language based, these musicals tend to be full of elaborate sets, entwined plots, love interests, and lots of music. Check out of the DVD below:
Salaam Namaste -She is a disk jockey at a Melbourne radio station; he is a chef at a popular restaurant. She displays her Indian heritage; he hides his.The tensions are all there for a romantic comedy that holds some sorrow and joy as Ambar and Nick navigate their way through modern love.

Is there a list of Bollywood DVDs that the library owns? We've been getting more requests for them here at Abingdon and I've had a slightly challenging time using the catalog to search for them. Just wondering...thanks!
Here’s a fast way to find all of HCPL’s Indian films:
From the library’s homepage, Find Books, Movies, Music & Catalog.
In the Search box, select “Subject contains…” and then enter “Foreign Films India” or any other country of origin whose films you may be interested in viewing.
This will give you the search results of all films of Indian origin, not just the ones that fall in the Bollywood category. A closer look at individual titles will give you an idea if any of these films are of interest to you.
I hope this helps a bit in all of your searches for foreign movies.
