Harford County and the Newbery Awards

On January 23rd, the Newbery Awards (along with many other book awards) were announced at the American Library Association Midwinter meeting in Seattle, Washington. Harford County played a role in this big event, first of all, by having one of HCPL's librarians, Jennifer Ralston, serving on the Newbery Committee, and then secondly, to have a Harford County resident, Jennifer Holm, win an Newbery Honor award for her book, Penny from Heaven.
