Come to the
Bel Air Book Festival on July 22 and meet Mary Jo Putney, a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author. Born in Upstate New York, Mary Jo realized at an early age that she had a reading addiction, a condition for which there is no known cure. Her entire romance-writing career is an accidental by-product of buying a computer for other purposes. Her novels are known for psychological depth and intensity. Winner of numerous writing awards, including two Ritas and two Romantic Times Career Achievement awards, she has five times had books listed among the Library Journal's top five romances of the year, and twice had books among the top ten romances of Booklist, the magazine of the American Library Association.
Her favorite reading is great stories, but in a pinch she'll settle for the backs of cereal boxes. Since 1987 Ms Putney has published twenty-nine books and counting. Releases in 2006 include a new historical romantic fantasy, The Marriage Spell, in June and the paperback reprint of Stolen Magic (written as M. J. Putney) in July.
Harford County Public Library is a proud partner of the Bel Air Book Festival.
