HCPL FoundationWe must not think of learning as only what happens in schools. It is an extended part of life. The most readily available resource for all of life is our public library system.

Jarrettsville Branch Campaign

Special Thanks to our Jarrettsville Donors

The Jarrettsville donors' wall display commemorates the efforts of the Jarrettsville community in donating their resources to support the Jarrettsville Branch of the Harford County Public Library. Together, the Jarrettsville Friends of the Library and the Harford County Public Library Foundation worked tirelessly to raise funds to support this campaign. We are grateful to our friends, neighbors and business leaders who gave generously to this successful effort. Donor Sneak Preview - Thursday, April 27th

Although we are merely in the planning stages for the Jarrettsville Branch, this long-term capitol project is clearly on the hearts and minds of the Jarrettsville Community. We invite you to continue visit our web site to get the latest information about this branch. See more pictures of the building.
Jarrettsville Branch is almost ready!
Inside the Jarrettsville Branch

Jarrettsville Branch CampaignIn 1998 the planning began for a new branch in Jarrettsville. Responding to community members who identified a need for a new facility, the Library completed its feasibility study in the summer of 2002 and, with support from all levels of county government, broke ground in October 2004.

The new branch will serve Jarrettsville and the surrounding areas not only as a resource for knowledge and learning but also as a community center for residents of all ages. The branch is uniquely situated in close proximity to local schools, churches and the sheriff 's department. It will provide an anchor for this growing community and, along with the Norrisville and Fallston branches, will serve the residents of the western end of
the county in a comprehensive way.

Branch Features
More Opportunities for Giving
In addition to being a full service, state of the art library, the Jarrettsville Branch of
Harford County Public Library will include:
• 20 public access computers • 1000 square foot meeting room
• Drive through check out window • Self check-out stations
• A fireside reading area
While the building itself has been funded through public sources, in order to fully meet the needs of the community when the Jarrettsville Branch opens, the budget for materials and special items will need to be supplemented by private sources.

If you would like to actively participate in the growth and development of this branch, contact us.
We have set a $100,000 campaign goal and are thrilled that we are well on our way to reaching that goal. We will continue to keep you informed of everyone's efforts and we encourage you to visit the Library website to check the construction photos as our new branch is being built.

You can help us reach our goal by participating as a donor and by sharing this information with other community leaders. It's your community and your library. You do make a difference.
