Thank you for your interest in the Whiteford Branch of Harford County Public Library.

Your support will be crucial toour efforts to reaise awareness and funds to support this branch's renovation and expansion.

We have set a campaign goal of $50,000 and are well on our way to reaching that goal. The campaign began April 18th and will continue until June 30, 2008.

You can help us by participating as a donor. There are a variety of opportunities to sponsor this undertaking.

Children's Area

Through interactive experiences and pretend play children learn and have fun. Activities encourage parents and caregivers to interact with their children in ways that enhance skill development and emergent literacy skills. This area will be constructed to represent a small village under a canopy of leaves. Age appropriate materials will be easily accessible for play in the library or to take home. The center will feature a play space for puppet shows and dress up performances.

Teen Area

In a designated space, teens can comfortably explore their surrounding, develop leadership skills and learn in a relaxed setting. The teen area features age appropriate furniture, designated computer stations and a flat screen television for group activities. This area is designed to engage middle and high school students, encouraging reading for pleasure and access to learning support.

Buy-A-Book

Buy-A-Book CampaignThis initiative allows everyone to support the library by donating $25 through the Buy-A-Book program. Donations in increments of $25 will allow the Library the funds necessary to continue to buy new releases, bestsellers and award winning titles. Donors who give $100 or more through this effort will be recognized on the branch’s donor wall when the new building is complete.
