Current Openings Specialist I – Marketing

VACANCY NO./LOCATION: #08-046
POSITION: Specialist I – Marketing
DATE OF NOTICE: March 24, 2008
LOCATION: Administrative Office (Riverside Business Park in Belcamp)
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $30,797 - $33,876/annual; Exempt; Grade 7. Benefits package includes leave, health/dental/vision/drug program, deferred compensation program, pension.
WORK WEEK: 37.5 hours per week. Work schedule includes day, evening, and weekend hours (some Saturdays and Sundays).
NATURE OF WORK: Performs a variety of administrative and technical tasks in support of the Marketing Department. Responsibilities include outreach events, press mentions, photography, Library mascot appearances, informational packets, promotional products, marketing projects and major initiatives such as the Library reading programs. Meets minimum public service hours as defined by Library Administration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field;
  • 2 years or more of job related experience;
  • OR equivalent combination of technical training, education, and/or experience.
  • Computer experience including presentation software, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet.
  • Ability to provide documentation of valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points, including current driving record.
  • Ability to work day, evening, and weekend hours.
APPLICANTS WHO MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE FURTHER REVIEWED ON:
Knowledge of marketing department practices and procedures including grammatical, proofreading, and copy editing skills; Ability to write promotional copy; Organizational and planning skills including event planning; Experience using digital cameras including online downloading, Organizing, labeling and storing of images; Ability to multi-task and work on several projects at one time; Strong communication skills, verbal and written; and Basic math skills.
