Resources & Services for Educators

Library Tours
Contact your local HCPL Library to set-up a library tour. Arrangements can be made for librarians to provide on-site library instruction and assistance to groups of students with the use of our computers and our library resources.

School Visits & Booktalking
Librarians visit elementary and middle schools during the school year to promote reading and special events at the library like our annual Summer Reading Program. Librarians can also accommodate special requests to visit classes for booktalking and to discuss other library resources.

Teacher Resources and Programs
Librarians are available to assist school media specialists and teachers in the use of the library's resources. With an extensive selection of web sites to give students Homework Help, there are also a number of web sites that can help teachers prepare and enhance their daily curriculum.

Educational Resources for Parents & Adults Who Work with Children

The library is committed to assisting Harford County's Home School Community as well as other adults who tutor or work with children on a regular basis. The library periodically offers homeschool programs and library instruction. Specially selected web sites are arranged by topic for Homework Help, as well as the Parent Teacher Collection and the Learning and Sharing Collection.
