A Bad Case of Stripes A Bad Case of Stripes
Author: David Shannon
Reviewed by Samantha, age 7, Prospect MILL YMCA

This is a crazy book! Camilla Cream has a problem, she turns into things. At school when she says the "Pledge Of Allegiance" she turns into stars and stripes. The kids at school laugh at her and then start to call out things for her to turn into like purple polka dots, ABC's, blue stars and army colors. She goes to the doctor to see what can cure her. Read the book and find out what she needs to eat to get rid of the stripes.

Junie B. copies off of the person next to her- a person that she hates- and the teacher doesn't know that she cheated. Junie B. added some of her own details to the homework and then the teacher gave her an "A".

Junie B. knows that copying is wrong but is that just for tests? Is Junie B. a "Cheater Pants? Read this funny book to find out if Junie B. gets caught, or if she gets away with it.

#12 Magic Tree House: Polar Bears Past Bedtime#12 Magic Tree House: Polar Bears Past Bedtime
Author: Mary Pope Osbourne
Reviewed by Nicole, age 7, Joppatowne YWCA

Magic Tree House books are my favorite! In them Jack, who is 8, and his sister Anne, who is 9, go into Frog Creek Woods in Pennsylvania and find a tree house. Inside they meet a magical librarian that travels through time named Morgan le Fay. In this book, Polar Bears Past Bedtime, one rainy night a snowy white owl appears outside of Jack's window. He and Anne go to find Morgan. The librarian says they have to go to the artic. She tells them a riddle they must figure out. It goes like this:

I cover what's real
And hide what's true.
But sometimes I bring out
The courage in you.
What am I?
Jack and Anne learn about the artic as they go off on an adventure to solve the riddle. Read the book and try to solve the riddle yourself.
