Welcome to the AVZone

Movies, Music, Games & Audio Books at the Library

The AVZone is dedicated to audio-visual materials owned by the Harford County Public Library system. Highlighted materials are owned in the local branches. The site will highlight the new DVD and CD releases on a monthy basis.

The purpose of the site is to help you find information. The information is geared toward users who want to checkout the new, hot, and popular materials. Patrons will be able to find information on the newest XBox and PlayStation2 games, the latest Kanye West cd, the "new to dvd releases," and the current hot audio book to listen to during your commute to and from work.

	Death of a President This is a fictional TV documentary, broadcast in 2008, on the assassination of President George W. Bush on October 19th, 2007.
	The Good Shepherd starring Robert De Niro and Angelina Jolie Edward played by Matt Damon, is picked to become a part of the newly formed Central Intelligence Agency. He would do anything to protect his country.
	Volver starring Penelope Cruz After passing away, a mother returns to her town in the form of a ghost to try and fix the things in her life that were left unresolved. (Spanish)

	Freedom Writers starring Hilary Swank A true story about a teacher in a racially divided school who gives her students the voice they have always needed. She inspires her students to overcome the gangs that divide them.
	History Boys starring Stephen Campbell Moore Starring the original cast from the Tony Award-winning play, a group of unruly, yet extremely gifted and charming classmates pursue sex, sports, and higher education.
	The Last King of Scotland starring Forrest Whitaker A Scottish doctor on a mission to Uganda becomes the personal physician to Idi Amin, the country's leader. What starts off as a fascinating job soon turns to horror as the doctor realizes what kind of man Idi Amin really is.
	Notes on a Scandal starring Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett Barbara, a veteran schoolteacher, is a loner close to retirement. When a youthful new art teacher joins the faculty, Barbara learns she is having an affair with a student and discovers that knowledge is power, and intends to use it.
	Smokin’ Aces starring Ben Affleck and Jeremy Piven Slick Vegas illusionist Buddy 'Aces' Israel isn't playing nice. Turns out, he is telling mob secrets to the FBI. After a $1 million contract is put out on him, he tries to pull his greatest disappearing.

	Déjá Vu starring Denzel Washington Called in to recover evidence after a bomb sets off an explosion on a New Orleans Ferry, an ATF agent discovers that what most people believe is deja vu is actually something far more powerful that leads him on a race to save hundreds of people.
	Night at the Museum starring Ben Stiller A divorced father who keeps losing his jobs every week applies for a job as a night guard at the Museum of Natural History. The easy job turns out to be an adventure when an ancient curse causes everything in the museum to come to life.
	The Queen starring Helen Mirren An intimate portrait of Queen Elizabeth and Tony Blair following the death of Diana. They struggle to reach a compromise between what was a private tragedy for the Royal Family and the public's demand for an open display of mourning.
	Tsunami: The Aftermath starring Toni Collette In 2004 a tsunami ravaged the coast of Thailand and hundreds of thousands lost their lives. This story follows a group of people whose lives are irrevocably transformed in the aftermath.
